Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Inverness County Shooting

Inverness County RCMP say a 35 year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was injured in a shooting in Egypt Falls on Monday.

The Mounties say they got called to reports of a man being shot on Keppoch Road at around 1:30 in the afternoon.

They say the man had a disagreement with two other men before he was shot and the pair ran away.

The man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and police say the two men were arrested a short time later.

One of the men was released without being charged but Donald Joseph Googoo from We’koqma’q First Nation has been charged with Attempted Murder.

He’s due in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court tomorrow.
