Glace Bay and Baddeck Emergency Department Closures Extended

The closure of the Emergency Department at the Glace Bay Hospital has been extended by nearly a month.

The Emergency Department was originally scheduled to reopen on Tuesday after being shutdown since early August.

However, the Health Authority now says it will stay closed until September 27^th because of a lack of doctors and nurses.

Meanwhile, the emergency department at the Victoria County Memorial Hospital in Baddeck was scheduled to reopen on Monday.

However, the Health Authority says it will now stay closed until September 11th because of a shortage of doctors.
