Official Vote Counting Underway In Provincial Election

Elections Nova Scotia says official vote counts for the provincial election began at 10:00 this morning, in all 55 returning offices.

The independent agency says the deadline to apply to a judge for a recount is four days after the official counting on this coming Monday.

Meanwhile, the agency released unofficial voter turnout numbers from the election, this morning.

It says overall voter turnout was 55.29 percent.

That compares with 53.4 percent in the 2017 provincial election.

A total of 418, 213 votes were cast in this year’s election.
