Voting Underway In Provincial Election

Voting is underway today in the provincial election with the polls and returning offices open for voting until 8:00 tonight.

Elections Nova Scotia says every voter will be given their own pencil to mark their ballots as a COVID-19 safety measure.

People are also being asked to wear a mask.

The independent agency is asking voters to bring their own pens, in case they have to fill out paperwork.

Voters can bring their voter information card if they have one and ID.

People not on the voters list can take an oath to be able to vote.

Meanwhile, the Coast 89.7 will have live election coverage starting at 8:00 tonight when the polls close.

Dave Desveaux will give updates at the top and bottom of each hour.

He’ll have results from each Cape Breton electoral district as well as overall provincial numbers.
