Ottawa Extending Support Measures

The federal government is extending COVID-19 benefits and business supports.

The eligibility period for the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy, the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy and Lockdown Support is being extended to October 23rd and the rate of support employers and organizations can get between August 29th and September 25th is being increased.

The Canada Recovery Benefit, the Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit and the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit are also being extended to October 23rd.

The maximum number of weeks available for the Recovery Benefit is being increased by 4 weeks to a total of 54 weeks at a rate of 300 dollars a week and will be available to those whose EI benefits have run out.
