by Nova Scotia is contributing $3 million toward the redesign and upgrade of Charlotte Street in Sydney.
Premier Iain Rankin made the announcement at a news conference in DesBarres Park earlier this afternoon.
The funds will go towards a “complete street” concept, with a one-way lane for cars and trucks, plaza-width sidewalks, and upgraded traffic signals.
Develop Nova Scotia is partnering with the municipality on the revitalization of the downtown street.
Construction is set to begin next April.
