North Sydney Man Charged With Murder

A North Sydney man made a court appearance by video link this afternoon as he faces a charge of second-degree murder.

40 year-old Stephen Michael Bishop is charged in the death of 60 year-old Robert Thomas Bradley in September.

Regional Police say officers got a call on September 3rd about an assault at a home on Brook Street in North Sydney.

Paramedics treated the man who was assaulted but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators treated the death as suspicious but as an isolated incident.

The Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed the death was a homicide.

Bishop was arrested on Thursday night in North Sydney.

He’s now on remand ahead of his next court appearance on June 28th.
