NS Changes Rules For Movers

The province has made some changes to rules on who can move here while current public health restrictions are in effect.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says people can apply to move to the province if they have a buy or sale agreement showing an offer has been accepted by May 1st and the province in no longer limiting the closing date.

People can also apply if they’ve left a property elsewhere and have proof of property in the province.

Also included in the criteria is a minimum one-year lease signed by May 1st and the province is no longer limiting that to a date when the lease starts.

People can also have a letter of acceptance for a job that can’t be done virtually or deferred and the letter has to be dated on or before May 7th.

The province is also extending travel rules at the New Brunswick border to include PEI.
