Health Officials To Notify Positive Cases, Close Contacts Via Text

Some people who test positive for COVID-19 and their close contacts will be notified by text message.

Public Health says it will send the texts when doing so is an option.

It says the approach will allow timely notification of positive cases and close contacts so they can immediately begin quarantining to avoid further spread of the virus.

If someone tests positive, they can also expect a call from the COVID Community Virtual Care Team and from a public health nurse.
