Regional Councillors Vote In Favour of Capital Budget

Regional Council has approved a capital budget of nearly $50.6 million.

The budget is providing $6 million for repaving 35 local roads.

$1.7 million is being used to pave seven collector roads and a million dollars is targeted for sidewalk repairs.

$9.9 million is being budgeted for 43 water and sewer line replacement projects.

The capital budget was approved today on the first of three days set aside for budget deliberation.

Discussion on a draft operating budget will begin Thursday.
