The province say it’s partnering with the federal government to expand a program that helps prevent and manage bed sores in continuing care.
It says the Health Association of Nova Scotia will put a pressure injury prevention strategy in place.
Five people will be hired to run the program.
They include one coordinator and four wound-care consultants who will work in each health-care zone.
The program will cost $675,000 for its first year with an estimated ongoing annual cost of $660,000.
