Vaccines Open Up to People 65 And Over

The province is further expanding its COVID-19 vaccination program to include people aged 65 and over.

Starting today, people in that age group can book appointments to get the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

Premier Iain Rankin says it may take a while before those vaccines are open to people under 65 because of the large number of people in the over-65 group.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says he knows some people are having challenges booking appointments but more appointments will be opening up as the supply of vaccines increases.

Strang says the province is still on track to get a vaccine to everyone who wants one by sometime in June.
