CB Sees Slight Drop In Jobless Rate

Stats Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 14.1 percent in March.

That’s a drop of a tenth of a percentage point compared to February.

It’s a three-tenths of a percentage point drop compared to February of last year.

Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate for March was 7.5 percent.

That’s a drop of seven-tenths of a percentage point compared to February.

The federal agency say the Canadian economy added 303,000 jobs in March.
