Orrell To Run Again In Sydney-Victoria

Former Tory MLA Eddie Orrell will be carrying the federal Conservative banner for the second time in the next election.

The Conservatives announced today Orrell has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate in the Sydney-Victoria riding.

Orrell stepped down as MLA for Northside-Westmount to run in Sydney-Victoria in the last election when he lost a close race to the riding’s current MP, Liberal Jaime Battiste.

Today’s announcement comes as the minority Liberal government prepares a budget that could trigger an election if opposition parties don’t support it.

However, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has told reporters he doesn’t want an election at this time.
