The Regional Hospital in Sydney is starting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic next week.
The hospital is getting 1,950 doses of the vaccine this week with the clinic scheduled to start on Monday.
The clinic is part of the first phase of the province’s vaccine rollout plan.
The first phase runs from this month until April and will see about 140,000 vaccines given.
The target groups in phase 1 include people over age 75, as well as healthcare workers and workers and residents in long-term care.
Phase 2 is expected to begin in May and will include additional health-care workers and essential workers.
Phase 3 will begin in the summer and will be open to people outside the Phase 1 and 2 priority groups.
The province is aiming to make vaccinations available to 75% of the eligible population by September 30th.
