by The province is extending its COVID-19 State of Emergency as it reports four new cases today, including one in the Eastern Zone.
That case involves a close contact of an earlier reported case but the province says it’s not connected to a recently reported case in Eskasoni.
The province says no cases were found at the pop-up testing site in Eskasoni yesterday and there’s no sign of any community spread there at this time.
Two of the other cases reported today are in the Central Zone and the other is in the Western Zone.
There’s now a total of 35 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.
No one in the province is in hospital with the virus.
The extension of the State of Emergency will take effect at noon on Sunday and will run until January 10th unless the government ends of extends it.
The province says it will not be reporting new COVID-19 cases on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or the day after, except in unusual circumstances.
