Province Brings In Broad COVID-19 Testing For Halifax Area Bars and Restaurants

The province is bringing in a broad testing strategy for people who go to or work in late-night bars and restaurants in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Anyone who works in a licensed establishment or went to a bar or restaurant in the Halifax Region after 10:00 at night in the last two weeks is being told to book a COVID-19 test.

Even people who don’t have symptoms are being told to book a test.

Chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang says the broad testing initiative will help them detect new cases early and get people who test positive to self-isolate.

The testing will be available until Monday.
