Cape Breton’s October Unemployment Rate Is 12.6 Percent

The latest numbers from Stats Canada put Cape Breton’s unemployment rate at 12.6 per cent, last month.

That’s down 1.3 percentage points from September and half a percentage point lower compared to October of last year.

Meanwhile, the national jobless rate was 8.9 percent in October.

That’s a small drop of a tenth of a percentage point from September.

The federal agency says the national economy added 84-thousand jobs, last month.
