Former municipal economic development manager John Whalley is running for council.
Whalley appears on the list of candidates in the next municipal election.
He’s running for District 3 councillor, the seat currently held by Esmond “Blue” Marshall.
Marshall’s name doesn’t appear on the official candidates list as of yet.
Whalley sued the municipality for constructive dismissal in May of 2016, claiming his removal from the port development file constituted a demotion which forced him to resign in 2015.
The lawsuit was dismissed, as was a subsequent appeal.
