Hearing Adjourned For Accused In Fatal Crash

A court hearing was adjourned today for a Glace Bay man charged after a fatal crash in Sydney.

29 year-old Jonathan Daniel Marangoni is now due back in court for a bail hearing tomorrow.

Marangoni faces counts of criminal negligence causing death and dangerous driving causing death after a vehicle crashed into a home on the corner of George Street and Byng Avenue last month.

43 year-old John James King from Little Bras d’Or was a passenger in the vehicle and died at the scene.

Three other people, including Marangoni, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Regional Police have asked the province’s police watchdog to investigate the case because officers tried to stop the vehicle before the crash.
