ACOA Offering More CBDC Funding

ACOA says it’s providing a total of more than $4.2 million to Community Business Development Corporations across the province.

Federal Fisheries Minister Bernadette Jordan made the announcement today.

She says the funding is meant to help small and medium-sized businesses after the hit the economy took from the pandemic.

About $950,000 is going to the Spark Innovation Challenge that offers financing for new technology start-ups in rural areas.

The rest of the money is being divided among 12 community business development corporations across the province to cover costs for the Community Futures Program that provides small business loans, tools, training and events.

Coastal Business Opportunities in Sydney is getting about $226,000 through that program.
