Over Two Dozen Homeless After Eskasoni Fire

The Red Cross says more than two dozen people are without a home after a fire in Eskasoni early this morning.

There are no reports of injuries.

The fire happened in a 15-unit building on Sanwell Paul Drive at around 1:00 this morning.

The Red Cross says it’s working with the Eskasoni Band Council to help 21 people from 10 apartments with emergency lodging, food, clothing and other basics.

It says people from the other five apartments decided to stay with relatives or friends but they’ll be given help if needed.
