COVID-19 Affecting Travel In Cape Breton

Victoria County Transit and Strait Area Transit will be suspending service starting this evening because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The McCurdy Sydney Airport is asking people not to come into the airport unless they’re travelling and to wait outside in their vehicles if they’re picking someone up.

Meanwhile, Air Canada is suspending its daily flight from Sydney to Toronto starting on Monday to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

And, Marine Atlantic ferry terminals are closed to passengers, starting today as a COVID-19 precaution.

The Crown Corporation has tied up its ferries until at least Sunday because of weather conditions.

It says there’s no room in its terminals to accommodate people at a safe distance because of the coronavirus.
