Coombes To Run For NDP

Regional Councillor Kendra Coombes has decided to run in an upcoming provincial by-election.

The District 11 Councillor will be running for the New Democrats in the Cape Breton-Centre riding.

This comes after the area’s current MLA, New Democrat Tammy Martin, announced she’s stepping down for health reasons.

The NDP says Coombes will be nominated at a meeting at the Italian Community Hall in Dominion on Thursday when Martin officially steps down.

Former MLA Dave Wilton will be running again for the Liberals in the riding.
