No Boat Harbour Decision Until Friday

Premier Stephen McNeil says he won’t speak publicly about his intentions for Northern Pulp’s Boat Harbour waste water lagoon until Friday.

McNeil makes the remarks after Environment Minister Gordon Wilson said yesterday the province needs more information on the Pictou County mill’s proposed new waste water facility.

The mill’s Boat Harbour facility is scheduled to close by the end of January under provincial legislation.

McNeil says the government needs more time to reflect on what he calls one of the most difficult decisions it’s had to make to date.
