Provinces Issues RFP For New North Sydney Facility

The province has put out a request for proposals to design a new community health centre, long-term care home and laundry centre in North Sydney.

The new facility will be built at Northside Business Park and will offer many of the services now available at the Northside General but it won’t have an emergency department.

There will be 60 beds at the long-term care home, adding 38 new beds to the community.

The project is part of the larger Health Care Redevelopment Project that’ll see a community health centre, school and long-term care home built in New Waterford.

That facility will also not have an emergency department.

The project will also see an expansion at the Regional Hospital in Sydney and renovations at Glace Bay Hospital.
