Man Arrested After North Sydney Weapon Scare

Regional Police say a 25 year-old Sydney Mines man was arrested today while carrying what turned out to be a fake gun in North Sydney.

They say they got a call shortly after the noon hour, when they were told an armed man was seen at the Super Store on King Street before going to a nearby gas station and then to the North Sydney Mall.

The man was arrested soon after officers arrived at the mall.

Police say he was carrying an air-soft replica rifle.

No one was injured.

Police say their investigation continues and charges are pending.
