Woman Hurt, Six Left Homeless After Glace Bay Fire

The fire marshal’s office is scheduled to start its investigation this morning into a Glace Bay fire that left six tenants homeless and sent a woman to hospital.

The blaze at the Lorway Street house with three apartments was reported at around 2:00 yesterday afternoon.

The Red Cross says a woman was sent to hospital for injuries suffered when she jumped from a second-storey window of the building.

The organization says it’s helping five people with emergency lodging, meals and money to buy clothes.
