Sobey’s Plans To Get Rid Of Plastic Bags

Sobey’s says it plans to remove plastic bags from all its grocery stores by the end of January 2020.

The Stellarton-based company says it’s the first national grocery store to eliminate plastic bags.

It says the move will take 225 million plastic grocery bags out of circulation each year.

It plans to make paper bags available for customers.

But Sobey’s says it hopes people will bring reusable bags.
