Sod Turning Ceremony For New Glace Bay Police Station

A sod-turning ceremony for the new Glace Bay police station will take place later this morning.

It’s due to get underway at 11:00 at the site of the former Post Office on Main Street.

Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke and Police Chief Peter McIsaac will be on hand for the ceremony.

Dartmouth-based Lindsay Construction has been awarded the tender for the design and construction of the station.

The project costs nearly 2.7 million dollars.
