Ruling Expected Today After Preliminary Hearing For Man Charged Following Death of Joneil Hanna

A judge is due to rule today if there’s enough evidence to send a Bras d’Or man charged after the death of Joneil Hanna to trial.

A preliminary hearing for 22 year-old Hayden Kenneth Laffin wrapped up in March.

Laffin is charged with obstruction of justice in the case.

Regional Police say Laffin was driving the SUV that hit the 17 year-old while he was walking home from a grad party in Leitches Creek, last year.

Laffin has elected to be tried by judge and jury if there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial.

He continues his release on conditions.
