Teacher Has Case Referred To Restorative Justice

The case of a teacher accused of threatening a student in Glace Bay has been referred to the restorative justice program.

The referral was made as 55 year-old James Edward Ryan from New Waterford appeared in court today for a scheduled plea hearing.

Ryan taught Grade 7 at Oceanview Education Centre in Glace Bay and the charge against him dates back to February.

He’s now on leave from his teaching job and continues his release on conditions.

His case is due back in court on September 6th.
