Online Petition To Save Rugby

An online petition has been launched calling for the return of rugby to the province’s schools.

The move comes after The Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation cancelled all rugby programs yesterday over what it says are safety concerns.

The federation says the data from the School Insurance Program shows rugby has far more injuries than any other sport.

Meanwhile, the change.org petition now has nearly 16-thousand signatures with a goal of 25-thousand.

The petition was started by a rugby team member who says it should be left up to rugby players to decide if they should play or not.
