The Florence Volunteer Fire Department is fed up with Cape Breton’s “fire season.”
In a Facebook post published this morning, the department says they’ll be followed by law enforcement officers who will press charges against those who choose to ignore burn restrictions.
The department says their firefighters are overwhelmed and exhausted, and other departments routinely jump boundaries at this time of year to help even more overwhelmed departments.
The Florence Fire Department says it’s been responding to a string of fires since five thirty this morning.
