Postal Workers Occupying Post Offices In the Regional Municipality, This Morning

Postal workers in the Regional Municipality have now joined continued job action across the country after the Senate passed back-to-work legislation, last night.

CUPW says the Breton Local is occupying urban Canada Post offices only, this morning.

Bill C-89 orders an end to rotating strikes by postal workers by 1:00 this afternoon.

Royal assent was granted late yesterday shortly after senators approved the bill by a vote of 53-25.

Four senators abstained.

Meanwhile, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers says it’s exploring all options to fight the back-to-work legislation.
