Regional Police say they’ve laid charges against a 14-year-old New Waterford boy after an assault at Breton Education Centre today.
They say the School Liaison Officer was helping staff deal with an uncooperative student at about 9 o’clock this morning, when the student threatened staff and the officer.
They say the officer arrested the student, but the boy injured the officer’s face with a pencil during the arrest.
The school was locked down as a precaution while the teen was taken away.
He’s facing charges of uttering threats and assault with a weapon, and has been released on a promise to appear in Sydney Court on December 5th.
