Power outage to affect Glace Bay ER service

Electricians are working at the Glace Bay Hospital today, which is affecting emergency room services.
Power has been shut down at the hospital since 8 this morning as crews repair an electrical breaker. The Nova Scotia Health Authority says the shutdown will last for about 8 to 10 hours.
The authority says patients won’t be affected, but visiting will be restricted.
Only immediate family or next of kin will be allowed to visit today, though exceptions may be made for compassionate reasons.
Elevators will be down during the shutdown, and the hospitals phone system may also be affected.
