Preliminary Hearing Next Year For Man Charged With Obstruction After Joneil Hanna’s Death

A Bras d’Or man charged after the death of 17 year-old Joneil Hanna from North Sydney will have a preliminary hearing next year.

Hanna died after being hit by an SUV while walking home from a grad party in Leitches Creek on June 10th.

Regional Police say 21 year-old Hayden Kenneth Laffin was the driver.

He faces a charge of attempting to obstruct justice and the case is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on March 13th.

Laffin has been released on conditions.
