A 23-year-old Reserve Mines man has been charged with Aggravated Assault after Regional Police say an 81 year-old man was assaulted yesterday morning.

Police say the man was found injured outside the Jacques Cartier Hotel on the Sydney Glace Bay Highway.

Daren Joseph MacGillivary was arrested in the hotel parking lot at around 6:30.

The 81-year-old was later airlifted to Halifax hospital for treatment of what police call non-life-threatening, but serious injuries to his face.
