McNeil Makes Cabinet Shuffle

Sydney-Whitney Pier MLA Derek Mombourquette is changing portfolios as part of a cabinet shuffle announced this morning.

Mombourquette moves from Municipal Affairs to Energy and Mines, a newly created Department that takes over the geosciences and mining division of the former Department of Natural Resources.

That department has been renamed Lands and Forestry and will be overseen by Iain Rankin, whose former Environment portfolio is being taken once again by Margaret Miller.

Glace Bay MLA Geoff MacLellan will keep the Business, Trade and Service Nova Scotia files and will become a member of the Treasury Board while retaining his position as Government House Leader.

The Municipal Affairs file has been given to Hants West MLA Chuck Porter.
