Spring Sitting Of The Legislature Starts Today

The spring sitting of the Legislature starts today.

MLA’s are due back at Province House for a session that begins at 1:00 this afternoon.

Meanwhile, one of the most controversial issues for the upcoming session will be put on the back burner.

Premier Stephen McNeil says the province will not introduce legislation to reform the education system as discussions continue with the Teachers’ Union.

The move comes after McNeil met with Teachers’ Union president Liette Doucet, yesterday as the union continues to oppose recommendations from the Glaze report.

McNeil says there will be another meeting with the Teachers’ Union but it has not yet been scheduled.
