The Crown and Defence made the joint sentencing recommendation for 24 year-old James Clayton MacDonald in Sydney court, his morning.
The North Sydney man apologized to anyone affected by his actions during the sentencing hearing.
A second former Florence Fire Department member is due to be sentenced on March 7th on five counts of arson.
And a third former member of the Fire Department will be sentenced on March 22nd after pleading guilty to a single count of mischief over $5,000.
The three were charged after a string of arson fires on the Northside in the spring and summer of 2016.
