Teachers’ Union To Hold Strike Vote

The Teachers’ Union will hold a strike vote on Tuesday as it continues to fight the province over some recommendations in the Glaze report.

Among them is the removal of principals and vice-principals from the Teachers Union and eliminating Regional School Boards.

The union says it recognizes job action would be illegal.

However president Liette Doucet says the union believes a strike mandate will put it in a strong position to fight back against the government.

The union is also planning to hold a public forum on education at the Holiday Inn in Sydney at 6:00 tomorrow evening.
