Bail Hearing For Sydney Mines Man Charged With Armed Robbery

A 35 year-old Sydney Mines man charged after an armed robbery is due back in court today for a bail hearing.

Michael Douglas MacDonald is charged with carrying a weapon in committing an offence (syringe), armed robbery and uttering a threat.

He was arrested after an armed robbery at the Bargain Basket on Main Street in Sydney Mines on Wednesday night.

Regional Police say the robbery happened shortly after 7:30.

They say there were no injuries.
