Fifth Candidate in P-C Leadership Race

The Progressive Conservative leadership race has a fifth candidate.

Julie Chaisson is executive director of the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market and came third for the P-C’s in the riding of Chester-St. Margaret’s in the last election.

She says if she wins the leadership contest, she intends to run wherever the next by-election is held.

Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke and MLA’s Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin, Tim Houston and John Lohr are also in the running to become the next P-C leader.

The party begins its annual general meeting in Halifax, later today.
