Driver Seriously Hurt After Bus Crashes Into Tractor Trailer

The Trans Canada on Kelly’s Mountain remains closed at his hour after a school bus hit a tractor trailer left partially on the road this morning.

RCMP say the driver suffered serious injuries and is being airlifted to hospital.

Michele MacLeod speaks for the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board.

She says there were 11 students on the bus on their way from Baddeck Academy to Memorial High School in Sydney Mines.

The RCMP says the students suffered minor injuries that include bumps and bruises.

They say the highway will remain closed in both directions between the Seal Island Lookoff and the Englishtown Ferry while they investigate.
