Marine Atlantic Hopes To Clear Passenger Backlog

Marine Atlantic is hoping to clear a backlog of ferry passengers today.

Crossings from North Sydney and Port aux Basques have been cancelled since Tuesday because of bad weather.

The Crown Corporation says a commercial crossing has been added to today’s regularly scheduled two crossings.

However, it’s also warning a weather system tomorrow could affect tomorrow night’s crossings as well as sailings on Christmas Eve morning.

There’s still a gale warning in effect for the northern part of the Cabot Strait.

But seas are expected to go down to between 2 and 3 metres, this afternoon.
