Nova Scotian Appointed To Senate

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has appointed a Nova Scotian to the Senate.

Independent Mary Coyle will be the eighth Senator from the province in the Red Chamber.

Trudeau also appointed Mary Jane McCallum from Manitoba.

In a statement, Coyle is said to be a long-time champion for women’s leadership, gender equality and Indigenous rights.

She has been the executive director of the Frank McKenna Centre for Leadership at St. FX since 2014.

Trudeau has now appointed 30 people to the Senate.
