Preliminary Hearing For Former Firefighter Charged With Arson

A preliminary hearing is due to take place today for one of three former members of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department charged with arson.

32 year-old Gary Richard Luker from Florence faces two counts of arson involving property damage.

The fires happened in June of last year in Point Aconi and involved a home and a vehicle.

Luker has elected to be tried by a Supreme Court judge and jury if his case goes to trial.

Two other former members of the Florence Volunteer Fire Department have already pleaded guilty to counts of arson and are due to be sentenced on February 5^th.
