Arrests Made In Tamarind Optical Thefts

Regional Police have made two arrests in relation to thefts caught on camera at Tamarind Optical in Sydney.

Tamarind posted a video on its Facebook page showing two men stealing a number of pairs of glasses from its display area.

The video has been set to music and has now had more than 15-thousand views.

Police say 32 year-old Shawn Alan Mitchelitis appeared in Sydney Provincial Court today in connection with the thefts.

He’s facing charges of Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and five Breaches.

A 27 year-old man, whose name hasn’t been released, is facing counts of theft and possession of property obtained by crime in the case.

He’s been released and is due in court on January 23rd.
